This page explains how to permanently delete your Geetly account and all of the data associated with it, exactly what is removed, and the little that is not. Deletion is free, needs no reason, and is available to every member from inside the app.
Method 1 — In the app (recommended, about ten seconds)
- Open Geetly. After reinstalling, sign in the same way you did before (Google or email).
- Tap Profile in the bar at the bottom.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation and confirm. The deletion runs on our servers at once and the app returns to its first screen.
If you installed the app but never signed in, there is no account on our servers, and uninstalling the app removes everything on the phone.
Deleting one song instead
Open the song, tap the menu at the top right and choose Delete. The song’s audio, cover, lyrics, lyric videos and its page are deleted from our servers within seconds; its link then answers “this page is no longer available”. A gift page can also be taken down on its own from the song’s gift screen, keeping the song.
Method 2 — By email (if you cannot open the app)
Lost the phone, already uninstalled, or the app will not start? Email us instead:
To: support@geetly.com
Subject: Geetly account deletion request
From: the email address you sign in with (Google or email sign-in); this is how we verify the request is yours
Body: “Please delete my Geetly account.” Nothing else is needed.
We confirm by reply and delete the account within 7 days (30 at most). If the email does not match an account, we tell you so you can try another address.
What is deleted
- Your account: name, email, sign-in, date of birth, app language, push tokens.
- Every song: audio, cover, lyrics, title, your description and every detail you entered.
- Every page (song and gift pages), their photos and messages; their links stop working at once.
- Every lyric video.
- Your playlists, your credits (unused credits are lost), your credit history, your promo code redemptions, your Geetly Pro status in our records.
- Anything cached on your phone goes with the app when you uninstall it.
What is retained
- Purchase records (Google Play order ids and purchase tokens, product, date, price) without your account id, for seven years, because tax and accounting law requires it and because Google Play may still refund a purchase later.
- Reports you filed or that concerned your content, without your account id, to keep abuse out of the service.
- Crash and usage reports already sent to Firebase, which carry no account id and expire by themselves (90 days and 14 months).
Nothing retained identifies you.
Geetly Pro and refunds
A subscription is a contract with Google Play, not with your Geetly account: deleting the account does not cancel it. Open Google Play → your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Geetly Pro → Cancel, before or after deleting the account. Refund questions go through Google Play first (Terms, Refunds).
