This Privacy Policy explains what AppskKuber (“we”) collects when you use Geetly: the Android app com.appskuber.geetly (the “App”), the song pages it publishes at https://geetly-app.web.app (“Pages”) and our websites. It covers why we collect it, who can see it, how long we keep it and how you can delete it.
Two kinds of people use Geetly: members, who sign in to the App and make songs, and listeners, who open a Page from a link and have no account.
1. Who we are
Geetly is made by AppskKuber, an independent developer based in India. AppskKuber decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for it (the “Data Fiduciary” under India’s DPDP Act and the “controller” under the GDPR). Our contact details are in Section 12.
2. What we collect and why
| What | When | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account: your name, email address, the sign-in method (Google or email), the app language, the date you accepted the Terms, your date of birth | When you sign in and during the short onboarding | To run your account and keep your songs with it; the date of birth confirms you are 18 or older (Section 9) |
| Songs: what you typed to describe the song, the style, mood, language, voice and length you chose, your own lyrics if you wrote them, the name, pronunciation hint, relation, memories and tone you entered for the person a song is for, the finished song (audio), its lyrics, its cover picture, its title, whether you liked it, how many times you played it | When you make and use a song | To make the song, keep it in your library and play it |
| Photos for a song: up to five pictures you attach so the song can be about them | When you attach them | Sent to the song model as part of your request; deleted from our servers as soon as the song is made, never kept |
| Gift page: the recipient’s name, your name, your message, a photo you choose | When you make a gift page | To show the page to whoever you send the link to |
| Credits and purchases: your credit balance, every credit movement, Google Play purchase tokens and order ids, the product bought, the price you saw, your Geetly Pro status | When you buy or use credits | To deliver what you bought, to show your history and to handle refunds |
| Notifications: a push token for each phone where you allowed notifications | When you allow notifications | To tell you when a song or a lyric video is ready |
| Reports: the reason and details of a report you file, the song or page it concerns | When you report something | To review it (we look at every report) |
| Usage and crashes: which features are used (a song made, a gift sent, a purchase screen opened), crash reports with the phone model and app version | While you use the App (release builds only) | To fix crashes and understand what is used. Never the words of a song, never names. |
| Listeners: when a Page is opened, our server counts the view; if a listener reports a Page, their network address is stored only as a hash with the day, to limit abuse | When a Page is opened or reported | To show you how many times your page was played and to keep reports honest |
We do not collect your contacts, your location, your microphone, your other files or the Advertising ID.
3. What goes to the AI models
Every song is made by AI. When you ask for a song, our server sends the following to Google’s generative AI models through the Gemini API (Google LLC, paid tier):
- to a text model (Gemini): your description, the style, mood, language and length, the recipient’s name, pronunciation hint, relation, memories and tone, and your own lyrics when you wrote them. It writes or checks the lyrics, names the song and describes a picture for the cover;
- to the song model (Lyria): the musical direction, the lyrics and any photos you attached. It composes and sings the song;
- to an image model (Gemini image generation): the title, style, mood and the one-line picture description. It paints the cover. No photo, no name and no lyrics go to the image model.
Under the Gemini API’s paid terms Google does not use these prompts or the output to improve its models, and does not claim ownership of the output. Google applies its own safety filters (for example it refuses requests for a real singer’s voice) and marks every song with an inaudible watermark (SynthID) that identifies it as AI-generated. We do not sell or share your prompts with anyone else.
The models can make mistakes: a song may contain words or sounds that are not what you asked for. Every song page and share page has a Report button.
4. Other services we use
| Service | What for | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Google LLC): Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, Cloud Messaging, App Check, Crashlytics, Analytics | Sign-in, storing accounts, songs and pages, running the song pipeline, push notifications, keeping the backend to the real App, crash and usage reports | The data in Section 2 |
| Google Cloud Run (Google LLC) | Rendering lyric videos | The song audio, its cover, its title and lyrics, the gift page’s names |
| Google Play Billing (Google LLC) | Payments in the App | Handled by Google; we receive a purchase token and an order id, never payment details |
| Google Sign-In (Google LLC) | Signing in with a Google account | Your Google account’s name and email |
Our websites set no cookies and load no third-party scripts. The admin site we use to run Geetly is private.
6. How we protect it
Everything travels over HTTPS. Only the signed-in owner can read their account and songs (enforced by Firebase security rules); songs and covers are served by unguessable links; payments are verified on our servers with Google Play before anything is delivered; the AI models are called only from our servers, never from the App. No system is perfect: if a breach affected you, we would tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
7. How long we keep it, and deleting it
- Songs (audio, cover, lyrics, your prompt): until you delete the song or your account.
- Photos attached to a request: deleted as soon as the song is made (within minutes), also when the song fails.
- Pages: until you take them down, delete the song or delete your account; a page we take down for breaking the Terms stays down.
- Account and credits: until you delete your account. Then everything above is deleted; purchase records are kept without your account id for refunds and accounting (seven years, as tax law requires), and reports are kept without your account id to keep abuse out.
- Push tokens: removed when you turn notifications off, sign out or delete your account.
- Crash and usage reports: up to 90 days (crashes) and 14 months (usage), per Firebase’s defaults.
To delete your account: open the App, Profile → Delete account. If you cannot open the App, see Delete Your Account.
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to tell you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, give you a copy, or stop processing it, and you can withdraw consent where processing rests on it. Residents of India (DPDP Act), the EEA and the UK (GDPR and UK GDPR), California (CCPA/CPRA) and other places have these rights in law; we offer them to everyone. Write to support@geetly.com with the subject Privacy Rights Request; we answer within 30 days and may ask you to confirm the request from the email you sign in with. You may also complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
Our legal bases under the GDPR: performing our contract with you (Sections 2 and 3); our legitimate interests in keeping the service safe, counting plays and fixing crashes; consent for notifications and for photos you attach; legal obligations for purchase records.
9. Age
Geetly is for people 18 years and older. The AI services we build on do not allow applications directed at anyone younger, so the App asks for your date of birth once and refuses accounts under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if you believe we have, write to us and we will delete it.
10. Where your data is stored
Our servers run on Google Cloud in the United States (region us-central1); the AI models run on Google’s global infrastructure. For transfers out of the EEA and the UK, Google’s standard contractual clauses and data processing terms apply.
11. Changes to this Policy
When this Policy changes in a way that matters, we update the date at the top and tell you in the App before the change applies. Earlier versions are available on request.
